URC Theology of Worship Seminar – 24th October
This is a seminar series with a particular focus on the nature, understanding and development of worship in the URC.
Theological integrity in leading worship
How can worship leaders respond well to the diversity of theological orientations in worship understanding and practice within URC congregations?
What model does the URC need for the future for congregations to maintain their relationship with God and a sense of who they are, with the growing variety of preachers Sunday by Sunday?’ This would be an opportunity for all those who preach and lead worship to share their experiences and concerns in providing authentic and appropriate worship for widely varying congregations.
Anne Sardeson, Thames North Synod Training Officer, will introduce the discussion. Participants are invited to bring a short reflection on their experience as worship leaders in diverse contexts and the challenges that are being faced.
The next meeting is on Thursday 24th October at 11.00 to 1.00 at the United Reformed Church, Church House, Tavistock Place, London WC1H 9RT.
A small charge is made to cover light refreshments. All welcome.
